To Print or Not to print? That is the question!

We often get asked, what is the best option for your wash care labels. Shall I printer them myself or shall I get them Pre-Printed. There isn't really a right answer for this, although we can certainly help point you in the right direction.

To start with, its fairly straight forward to assume that if you have 100 T-Shirts, then your only likely to require 100 labels. And if the T-shirts are all the same, then its easier to just have 100 of the same labels printed. But, if you have lots of variations of fabric content, washing instructions or sizes, then you might only need 10 of one type and maybe 30 of another. Then you have to consider the time it will take to design these various labels and then getting someone to print the labels for you. For smaller quantity, then its probably a better option to have the labels printed for you, although if you started to need thousands of labels, all of a sudden printing them yourself might be a most cost effective solution. Having the printer yourself, taking the time to design and print the correct labels can be considered to be priceless, having full control over your own printed labels. And not that we would be suggesting we would ever make a mistake.....when a mistake does happen, its much easier to rectify that if you have your own printer.

We have standard printed options such as packs of 100 labels (costing between £10-£20 / pack of 100) or 50 Meters of material (with costings starting from £40) and we can turn these around within a few days. We also have a monthly subscription, where as long as you require a minimum of 1000 labels per month, with pricing starting from £80, this could also be an option to consider. And finally we have the printer package deals, with pricing starting from £164.00. But you will need to factor in the ongoing costs of Care label materials and printer ribbons.

At the end of the day, it really comes down to what works best for your business. Getting them printed for you is 1 less job for you to do, but having complete control over what you print can take the pressure off time scales and lead times.
