2. PHYSICAL SETUP & CONNECTIONS
- Place printer on flat, stable surface — leave clearance above to open top cover fully.
- Connect power cable ➔ mains socket.
- Do NOT connect USB yet — install driver first.
- Power ON — status LED illuminates when ready.
3. DRIVER & SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Driver Installation
- Download driver & software from link provided with your order confirmation.
- Right‑click installer ➔ Run as administrator.
- Accept licence agreement ➔ Install printer drivers.
- Select connection type: USB — connect cable when prompted.
- Confirm model name matches printer label ➔ Finish.
- Go to Settings ➔ Bluetooth & devices ➔ Printers & scanners
- Select your TSC printer ➔ Printing Preferences
- Media Type: Continuous
- Print Method: Thermal Transfer (critical — do NOT use Direct Thermal)
- Resolution: 300 dpi
- Set label dimensions to match your material width × length
Software
- Install label design application — follow setup wizard
- Install included care symbol fonts
- Recommended: Install TSC Diagnostic Tool / Printer Utility for calibration & diagnostics
4. LOAD RIBBON & LABEL MATERIAL
Ribbon Loading
- Open top cover.
- Place ribbon supply roll on the rear spindle.
- Thread ribbon under printhead — ink‑coated side facing down toward the label material.
- Attach ribbon leader strip to the front take‑up core.
- Turn take‑up core by hand until ribbon is taut, flat, wrinkle‑free.
Satin Label Material
- Mount satin roll on the media spindle.
- Feed leading edge through side guides ➔ under printhead.
- Adjust side guides — touch edges lightly, do not pinch.
- Close cover ➔ press Feed button — one label advances smoothly.
- Calibrate: Hold Feed button on power‑up until LED flashes — printer auto‑calibrates media.
5. DESIGN & TEST PRINT
- Create new label — dimensions = exact width × length of your material
- Keep all text, symbols & graphics 1.5–2 mm clear of all edges to avoid being cut off
- Recommended font size: minimum 6pt; sans‑serif fonts print clearest & last longest
- 300 dpi delivers sharp detail — ideal for small logos, fibre content & UKCA marks
